Who we are

Emaki is made by Runar Hummelsund, a sole trader in Norway. Email support@getemaki.app with any question or request about your data.

In the app

Everything you write is saved as files on your computer, in folders you choose. Emaki connects to the internet only to:

When you buy

Stripe handles the purchase as the merchant of record. It collects your payment details, billing address and email to take the payment, prevent fraud and handle sales tax, and is responsible for that data under Stripe’s privacy policy. We never see your card details.

Stripe tells us your email address and the purchase’s IDs, so we can make your license key and email it to you.

What we keep

We use this only to give you your license: to email the key, to activate it, to let you manage your computers and get your key again here, and to stop keys being shared and trials being started over. That is needed to fulfil our agreement with you, and it’s in our legitimate interest to prevent abuse. We never sell it or use it for marketing.

We keep it as long as your license exists. Ask us to delete it and we will, though your key then stops working. Records of sales are kept for as long as bookkeeping law requires. A trial’s hash and start date are kept for as long as Emaki is sold, so it can’t be started over.

This website

This site sets no cookies and runs no analytics or third-party scripts. Its hosting processes IP addresses, as any website must, to serve pages and downloads and to protect against attacks.

Who processes it for us

They may process data outside the EEA, including in the United States, under the EU’s standard contractual clauses or the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct, delete or get a copy of the data we have about you, and object to how we use it. Email support@getemaki.app and we’ll answer within a month. If you’re unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Norwegian Data Protection Authority, Datatilsynet, or the authority where you live.

Changes

If this policy changes, we’ll update it here and change the date at the top.
